Description

These pathogens cause venereal disease related with infertility and potential remarkable economic losses. The transmission of these agents takes place mainly during natural mating but its presence in semen of bulls increases the risk of spread through artificial insemination. The infection is asymptomatic in bulls and most females will get infected after mating. Embryonic deaths by resorption and/or mummification are usually observed.
The microbiological culture of these pathogens might be time consuming and needs particular expertise, therefore this qPCR which detects simultaneously both parameters makes it easier, more specific and sensitive.
