Description
Avian Metapneumovirus (aMPV) is a major etiological agent of respiratory disease in poultry, associated with turkey rhinotracheitis and swollen head syndrome in chickens, leading to significant economic losses due to decreased productivity and increased susceptibility to secondary infections.
The EXOone aMPV A/B assay is a multiplex real-time RT-qPCR based on hydrolysis probe (TaqMan®) technology, enabling the specific detection and differentiation of aMPV subtypes A and B in a single reaction. The assay incorporates subtype-specific primer-probe sets labelled with distinct fluorophores, allowing simultaneous amplification and detection of both targets.
Additionally, the assay includes an endogenous internal control detected in a separate channel, which monitors sample quality, nucleic acid extraction efficiency and the presence of PCR inhibitors, ensuring reliable interpretation of negative results.
