EXOone Enterococcus hirae

Description

Enterococcus hirae is a Gram-positive bacterium commonly found as part of the normal intestinal microbiota of animals, particularly poultry and pigs, but it can act as an opportunistic pathogen under certain conditions.
It is associated with enteric disorders, septicemia and, in some species such as poultry, conditions including growth retardation and increased mortality. Infections may result in significant clinical and economic impact in intensive production systems.
Conventional detection methods based on culture may require time and additional steps for accurate identification. Real-time PCR enables rapid, sensitive and specific detection of E. hirae DNA directly from clinical samples, supporting analytical detection and monitoring.
