EXOone Campylobacter coli

Description

Campylobacter coli is a Gram-negative, curved bacterium belonging to the family Campylobacteraceae, commonly found in the gastrointestinal tract of animals, particularly pigs and poultry.
It is associated with enteric infections and diarrhea, and may also be involved in reproductive disorders in livestock. Although often subclinical in animals, it has zoonotic relevance as a potential source of foodborne infection in humans.
Conventional detection by culture can be laborious and affected by fastidious growth requirements. Real-time PCR enables rapid, sensitive and specific detection of C. coli DNA directly from clinical samples, supporting analytical detection and surveillance.
