Description

IBV is an important pathogen of poultry causing infectious bronchitis (IB) also affecting gut, kidney and reproductive systems of chickens. The virus affects the performance of both meat and egg producing chickens and is responsible for substantial economic loss within the poultry industry
Turkey coronaviruses (TuCV ) are members of the family Coronaviridae that infect turkeys, especially poults, leading to gastrointestinal disease. Viruses include turkey enteritis virus and bluecomb disease virus.
Necropsy, histology, indirect immunofluorescence, immunoperoxidase staining, ELISA can be used for diagnosis. Real time RT-PCR offers the most suitable alternative since they are faster, simpler and accurate.
